Child Behavior & Brain Development
** This is a recorded version of a live training given on October 18, 2023.** Training provided by Gladys Noll Alvarez, LISW, IMH-E, ECMH-E, Trauma Informed Care Project Coordinator, Orchard Place Child Guidance Center. This session will cover a basic understanding of brain development, the parts of the brain and their functions. It will also explain how behavior is connected to stages of development (physical and emotional) and responsiveness of relationships. Participants will be able to: 1. Identify major parts of the brain and its function. 2. Explain that all behavior has meaning. 3. Identify the “5 R’s” to Healthy Brain Development 4. Recognize possible things that might impact brain development and behavior.
